Georgian Coal Scuttle
This antique coal scuttle presents a charming piece of fireside history. Crafted with a dark wood frame and a pierced brass detailing to the front, it would have been used to hold coal for open fires. The design is typical of the Georgian period, with a focus on both functionality and decorative appeal. The scuttle’s construction suggests a quality build, intended for regular use in a well-appointed home.
Condition
The scuttle shows signs of age and use, with wear to the wood and patina to the brass. The pierced brass is intact, though may require cleaning. This piece would appeal to collectors of antique fireside accessories or those seeking a unique and characterful addition to their home decor. It offers a glimpse into a bygone era of domestic life.
