Origin & Style
This is a beautifully crafted gilt coal scuttle spoon, likely dating from the Victorian era. The spoon features a distinctive, elongated oval bowl designed for scooping loose tea, and a gracefully shaped handle terminating in a subtle floral motif. The gilt finish adds a touch of luxury and highlights the intricate detailing of the design, suggesting it was intended for formal tea services or special occasions.
Condition & Collectibility
This spoon exhibits signs consistent with age and use, including some minor wear to the gilt finish and possible light scratches on the bowl. Despite these minor imperfections, the spoon remains a charming example of Victorian silverware and would be a desirable addition to a collection of antique spoons or tea accessories. Its unique coal scuttle shape and elegant design make it a particularly interesting piece for collectors of vintage tableware.
